This page explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our privacy policy.
In short
- We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Our visitor statistics work without placing cookies on your device.
- The only cookies we set are ones the site needs to work, mostly for logged-in site editors.
- Bookmakers may set their own cookies after you click a link to their site.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things, such as keeping you logged in. Similar technologies include pixels and local storage, and this policy covers those too.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies. These are needed for the site to work and don’t need your consent. Most visitors will never receive any of them.

Visitor statistics. We use Jetpack Stats (by Automattic) to count page views. It does not place cookies on visitors’ devices. How it handles data is explained in our privacy policy.
Fonts. Our fonts load from Google Fonts. This does not set cookies, but your browser does connect to Google’s servers.
Third-party cookies
- Bookmakers and affiliate networks. When you click a link to a bookmaker, that site (or the affiliate network that tracks referrals) may set cookies to record that you came from us, so we can be paid a commission if you sign up. These cookies are set on their websites, not ours, and are covered by their own cookie and privacy policies.
- Sharing buttons. If you use a button to share a page on social media, that platform may set its own cookies once you go to its site.
Do we need your consent?
UK law requires consent for cookies that aren’t strictly necessary, such as advertising or analytics cookies. Because we don’t currently use any of those, we don’t show a cookie banner. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
How to control cookies
