Betfred is one of the best-known high-street names in British betting, and its app puts sports betting, casino and games in one place. It is especially popular with racing fans thanks to Best Odds Guaranteed and a steady stream of racing extras. Here is how the Betfred app shapes up in 2026, and what you need to know about the welcome offer.

- New UK customers aged 18+ only. One offer per address, device or mobile number.
- Deposit £10+ within 7 days of joining by debit card – directly, or through Apple Pay or Instant Bank Transfer. Other payment methods don’t qualify.

Using the app
The Betfred app covers sports, casino, slots, bingo and live casino in a single download, so you don’t need separate apps. Racing Post data covering UK and Irish horse racing and greyhounds is built in, with stats and tips that are handy if you like to check form before you bet.
For football, Bet Builder (Betfred’s #PickYourPunt) lets you combine markets in one match, and Multi-Match Bet Builder lets you do the same across several games. Sub Switch moves your player bet to the substitute if your player is taken off. Betfred also runs regular football extras such as Double Delight and Hat-Trick Heaven on goalscorer bets – check the terms in the app as these change.
Cash out is available on your open bets. Betfred doesn’t say clearly on its public pages whether partial or automatic cash out is offered, so check the options on your bet slip. Our cash out guide explains how it works.
Live streaming
Betfred is best known for horse racing and greyhounds, and the app shows live racing coverage. I couldn’t confirm Betfred’s current streaming conditions (such as whether you need a funded account or a bet on the race) from its own pages, so check the details in the app before relying on it. Don’t expect to stream Premier League football – UK football is generally not shown live on betting apps.
Deposits and withdrawals
- Visa and Mastercard debit cards, Instant Bank Payment, Apple Pay and bank transfer (BACS) are available.
- To qualify for the welcome offer you need to deposit at least £10 by debit card, either directly or through Apple Pay or Instant Bank Transfer.
- Betfred says every withdrawal goes through security checks, which can take up to 48 hours.
- Once approved, Betfred’s guide says debit card withdrawals usually arrive within four hours, Instant Bank Payments within about six hours, and BACS in around three days. Check the current times in the app before you request a payout.
- Betfred doesn’t charge fees for withdrawing your own money.

- On iPhone, open the App Store and search for “Betfred Sports, Casino & Games”.
- On Android, open Google Play and search for “Betfred” – check the developer is Betfred Technology Ltd.
- Install the app, open it and tap Join to register. You must be 18 or over and based in the UK.
- Set a deposit limit, then deposit £10 or more by debit card (directly, or via Apple Pay or Instant Bank Transfer) within 7 days if you want the welcome offer.
- Place your first sports bet of £10+ at Evens or bigger. It must settle within 7 days of joining to unlock the free bets.

My verdict
Betfred’s app is a solid all-rounder, and it really suits anyone who enjoys a bet on the horses: Best Odds Guaranteed, racing extras and Racing Post data are all there. The £50 welcome offer is worth having, though remember the free bets only last a week, £20 of it can only be used on Bet Builder, and your qualifying deposit must be by debit card. Football fans get Bet Builder, Multi-Match and Sub Switch. If you want the widest range of markets you might use it alongside another app, but as a main betting app it does the job well.
